MILAN WITH A VIEW

Every time I plan my travels I do my best to find a place to stay with a view. This can be bit tricky sometimes when you’re planning a trip last minute. This travel pick was Milan and I mean… who doesn’t know Milan!! It is one of the most popular and iconic cities in Italy especially when it comes to fashion. When I was planning our adventure to this city, I assumed there would be no way I could find a place to stay that is affordable, with a view and close to the Duomo. After in depth search, I was able to find an accommodation with this perfect seeing without spending a crazy amount of money. Today I will be revealing all the details with pictures of the apartment and the view.

While doing my accommodation search, I found (Glamour Apartments) by chance on Booking.com. When I saw the apartment, I fell in love with it! I did what we all do: checked all the pictures! I honestly couldn’t believe the magnificent view of the Duomo it offered with a price of less than 200 Euro per night. I went crazy and booked it right away without thinking twice. I know is It is not super cheap but it is affordable if you are looking for a dreamy view in Milan.

(Glamour Apartments) has more than one building and a range of different sized apartments and price point. All of the suites come with a view of either the Duomo or the different angels of it. We rented a car in Milan in order to drive all the way from the Italian Rivera to the French Riviera and (Glamour Apartments) was able to provide as with parking spot during our stay there. Places with such a great view like this usually are super expensive, that is why I was supper happy to find (Glamour Apartments) which was a win for me.

The room view

Words cannot describe the view of the Duomo from the room, even pictures don’t do it justice. The outlook of this room will give you the chance to enjoy the Duomo from a different perspective and take some pictures without braving the normal crowd in the comfort of your own room. As a bonus If you like pictures just like me, you can step outside early in the morning, I would recommend any time between 6 AM and 7 AM just before the tourists crowd the area. You can also enjoy listening to music at night time with the iconic view from the room window if you are a night person.

The room

Usually when you stay somewhere affordable you would not expect too much of the place. But I was gladly surprised because the room was super clean, the bed was comfortable, it offered fast free Wi-Fi, LCD TV, Jacuzzi bathtub, Microwave, kitchen utensils and most importantly an amazing view. Our room also came with extra bed so it was perfect for three people as a small family. Just keep in mind that the place was not high quality, so if you’re looking for a luxury hotel then this place will disappoint you. By all mean, you will not find a better place than this if you’re looking for the perfect view and a short distance walk to the main sights of Milan. I would also recommend letting the staff know at what time you will be arriving since it is not a hotel with 24hour service. We called the hosts once we arrived in Milan and a lady was waiting for us upon our arrival, it took only a few minutes to check in and receive the apartment key.

Nearby places

The Duomo of course!! (Glamour Apartments) is located in the heart of Milan within a walking distance of less than 50 m of the Duomo Cathedral and from the Duomo Metro stop that offers fast access to Expo 2015 Exhibition Centre. Also, if you really love shopping just like me Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II would be your great choice if you are interested in luxury brands.
From my experience, you do not need to stay for more than two nights, because the apartments walking distance to all the main sights. In terms of transportation if you are not renting a car the metro would be a really great way to get around if you are planning to explore further than walking distance. From the Milano Centrale Station, you can get the Metro yellow line to the Duomo station for about 1.50 Euro and you’ll be almost directly at the apartments.
Keep in mind that if you’re traveling on a budget, the cafes and the restaurants come with a steep price tag so it would be better to avoid them and try to walk further distance from the Duomo in order to find budget friendly places.
